In honor of the World Stroke Day, we are proud to share the inspiring story of CATCH, the device that, 20 years ago, pioneered the revolution in ischemic stroke treatment.
CATCH was launched in 2005. Born from the vision of Prof. Dr. med René Chapot (Alfried Krupp Hospital Essen, Germany), it was the first “stent-like” device developed for mechanical thrombectomy.
After more than a decade of design improvements, Balt introduced the CatchViewTM stent-retriever in 2018.
Today, Balt remains committed to advancing acute ischemic stroke treatment by supporting the development of new techniques as well as extending its dedicated portfolio.
